Bringing your own bags seems to be the latest trend in stores these days. Go to the store in style and show off your love of cats! Make you own unique shopping totes with cat quotes. These are also great for gifts and craft parties too.
Materials you will need:
Download our set of Cat Quote Totes for Iron-On Fabric Transfers from our shop. You will have the digital file to make your totes!
•A circle cutter that that cuts 6″ Circles but does not make a hole in the middle. We like the EK tools Scissor Pro Circle Cutter!
•The best material for this project is printable fabric with iron on transfer material on the back. You can get this at craft stores or online on Amazon: Avery Printable Fabric for Inkjet Printers, 8.5 x 11 Inches, Pack of 5
First print out your cat quotes onto the Avery Printable Fabric for Inkjet Printers. We noticed that the colors look really good on this material and after you iron it on it stays flexible. We tried regular iron on transfer paper and the colors faded and the transfers always came out patchy after ironing.
Position your circle cutter on top of your print.
Watch out for the ears and chin. Make sure that they are centered.
Attach the Cutting blade handle to the spinning surface on the EK tools Scissor Pro Circle Cutter. Be sure it clicks in and it on the 6 inch setting.
Hold down the outer ring while you push the blade in, then rotate in a circle. We spun it a few times to make sure it really cut through.
This will cut all of your cat quote circles out. Then, heat up the iron! Set it to the highest setting with no steam.
Iron your tote bags first so they are really flat. This work son any type of bag, any color. You can even use patterned bags becasue the fabric transfer paper we recommended is completely opaque.
Position your transfer in the center. Use the straps to make your alignment.
Iron it! Don’t bee afraid to iron right on it. Just glide the iron over the surface back and forth for 30 seconds. Check the edges ot make sure they are sealed well to the surface.
You are done! Ta-dah! Now you can go to the store in style and flaunt your new cat quote totes.
